Ice Cream Sandwich Cake Recipe

Ice Cream Sandwich Cake Recipe

Recipe Ingredients:
8 ice cream sandwiches
1/2 gallon strawberry ice cream - softened
10 oz Deep Dark (Haute) Hot Fudge Chocolate Sauce
2 cups whipped cream topping
1 banana - peeled and sliced
1/3 cup walnuts - chopped
1 cherry (optional)
Recipe Instructions:
Freeze a 9-inch spring-form pan to chill.
Cut ice cream sandwiches into quarters - first in half lengthwise, then in half crosswise.
You will end up with 32 pieces.
Place the ice cream sandwich pieces on a wax-paper lined pan - freeze until firm.
Remove the spring-form pan and the ice cream sandwiches from the freezer.
Line the outer rim of the spring-form pan with the ice cream sandwiches, arranging them lengthwise (see picture).
Fill the center with the softened strawberry ice cream.
Freeze spring-form pan until firm - at least 2 hours.
This first part of the recipe can be prepared and kept frozen for days.
Remove lid and heat the Deep Dark (Haute) Hot Fudge Chocolate Sauce for 60 seconds in the microwave or until hot, stir evenly.
Remove the ice cream sandwich cake from the spring-form pan and transfer to a serving plate.
Pour the Deep Dark (Haute) Hot Fudge Chocolate Sauce on the top center of the cake and spread just to the edge of the strawberry ice cream filling.
Add the whipped cream to the center, then add a layer of banana slices around the edge.
Garnish with chopped walnuts and top with a cherry.
Serve immediately.
